Native to the West Pacific from Australia to Japan. The floating bell Jellyfish has been introduced widely elsewhere. Average sizes are 45-50cm in bell diameter but there has been a maximum reported size of 62cm. This specimen was seen at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego.
