Queen butterfly posing on a plant in the early morning light Gilbert, AZ. The Queen Butterfly (Danaus gilippus) is a North and South American butterfly in the family Nymphalidae (the brush-foots) with a wingspan of 2.75 3.25" (70 88mm). They seem to be the most common here in Arizona in the summer months. Fine Art America watermark will not appear on purchased artwork.
