Description
A touch of water drips off the beak of this female Canvasback duck early morning in Tempe, Arizona. This duck has a very distinguishable size and sloping profile that makes it easy to identify in the wild. One of the few ducks to ever be placed on the special concern list via the IUCN in the 1980s their populations greatly decreased, however, have been increasing lately since the 1990's and the species is now not in any population danger. Females are a soft subdued brown with a brown chest while the male has a dark red crown and red eyes and a black chest both sexes have a black bill. Fine Art America watermark does not appear on purchased artwork.
