Description
Queen Butterflies are a North and South American Native. They are part of the Nymphalidae family and have a wingspan of 70-80 mm. They are often found feeding on Milkweed plants, foliage, and dead plants and laying their tiny white eggs on the underside of the Milkweed plant. Queen Butterflies Caterpillars are in the pupal stage for 7-10 days when they emerge the Queen can have several generations of years.
The queen is one of many insects that derive chemical defenses against predators from its food plant. Fine art America watermark will not appear on purchased artwork.
